My name is Stuart Hyde and I am the Chair of Clarke Foley. My family and I live locally having moved here from Bristol over 20 years ago.
As the Chair of Clarke Foley I want to help grow the Board of Directors and to see improvements in the building and services delivered to our lovely users. Clarke Foley is more than just a place to go; it is an industrious community of volunteers and staff who always go the extra mile to please our Community. Much of our usage comes from the U3A and it is my ambition to build a really valuable working relationship between us both.
My ambition is to see all our staff and volunteers feeling confident that the Board is looking after them and has their interests at heart. Whilst Governance is not always the top of people’s minds, it is an important aspect of any charitable organisation, and I hope I can deliver that for everyone’s benefit.
Having had a full career in the Police I have served in all ranks from Constable to Chief Constable. Throughout that time, as well as managing much change and a number of high profile incidents, I helped manage the Police response nationally to cybercrime and tackling child abuse online.
Since retirement from the Police I have established my own business and now provide consultancy on Cyber Security. I am also engaged in helping large national Charities to work together better, in the case of the next major national crisis.
Outside of paid work I have been helping to create the business case for the Ilkley BID and I am also a Voluntary Enterprise Adviser for Ilkley Grammar School.
I love working in, and with, our Ilkley Community as we have many local community heroes. Ilkley is a thriving and beautiful place to live with much to do and enjoy.
